Celebrating 15 Years of Providing Crisis & Contingency Management Services

Posted by:

In 2003, Bob Bradshaw and Ron Markovich decided to combine their skills and extensive expertise to create a new emergency services consulting firm. Together they founded the Contingency Management Consulting Group (CMCG) with the primary mission of providing emergency planning, training and real-time response services to public and private sector clients.

Over the last 15 years, the company has steadily grown, establishing itself as one of only a handful of expert organizations that are recognized nationally. Leveraging extensive expertise and knowledge of radiological emergency planning for commercial nuclear power plants, CMCG has expanded its capabilities and services to meet the designated needs of an ever-expanding and diversified client base. In both 2010 and 2013, CMCG was ranked by the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal as one of the Top 50 Fast Growing Companies in Central PA.

CMCG currently provides customers with specialized professional services in corporate crisis management, facility emergency preparedness and response and business continuity. These services include but are not limited to, comprehensive threat and security assessments, gaps analysis, planning, training and exercise support. Our client base has grown from the nuclear power industry, to gas and petrochemical industries, K through 12 and university academic institutions, hospitals and health care and all levels of government.

Managing Partner Bob Bradshaw attributes much of CMCG’s success to the quality of the people that we employ and the value our clients receive from our services. “CMCG has provided long-term support to a number of clients who have retained our services for ten years or more, validating an outstanding professional relationship as well as our loyalty and commitment to serving them to the best of our abilities. As such, a significant portion of our growth has occurred organically, through word of mouth by our most prominent clients recommending us to others in their industry.”

Headquartered in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, CMCG operates smaller offices in Massachusetts, New York and Virginia. While we provide most of our services throughout the U.S., we have occasionally had the opportunity to also work with a number of international clients. CMCG has provided services to clients in Japan, Egypt, Canada, Costa Rica, the Philippines and most recently in Santiago, Chile.

Ron Markovich, CMCG’s co-owner and Manager Partner notes that part of the company’s success can be attributed to the unique opportunity we have had to continue to respond to real emergencies and to learn from those events. “Most consultants do not have the benefit of continuing to be involved in real response operations. However, CMCG personnel have been called to assist with response to a number of corporate crisis situations, not the least of which was the Fukushima nuclear incident in 2011, where we advised several international firms on the hazard and delineated the actions they should be taking to protect their employees and property. Our staff have responded to major oil spills, the attacks of 9/11/2001, several significant hurricanes and a number of confidential corporate crises. We learn from each of these experiences and are able to share that knowledge and significant lessons learned with our clients.”

Bradshaw and Markovich expressed their appreciation for the trust, loyalty and support CMCG has received from their clients and also the dedication and commitment of their staff without whom these last 15 years would have never been possible.
