Ronald J. Markovich
Ronald Markovich is a Managing Partner of Contingency Management Consulting Group, LLC. He has over 27 years experience in emergency management, risk communications, vulnerability assessment, business continuity and crisis management where he has performed in the capacity of both project manager and as a crisis management consultant specializing in emergency management and security program development. He completed the Physical Protection Systems for Public Safety Practitioners Course presented by Sandia National Laboratories.
Mr. Markovich has recently developed the Combined Operating License (COL) Emergency and Physical Security Plans for applicants utilizing the U.S. EPR design; developed the COL Physical Security Plans for applicants utilizing the ESBWR and AP1000 design and is an active member of the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) industry new plant emergency and physical security task forces. He also served as the lead manager for the Emergency and Security Plan development effort for the initial license application for the AREVA Enrichment Facility to meet the requirements of 10CFR70.22, Regulatory Guide 3.67 and NUREG-1520. Mr. Markovich was responsible for overseeing the development of the Emergency and Security Plans, ensuring consistency with the other Safety Analysis Report chapters and interfacing/negotiating with the State and local Emergency Management Agencies under an aggressive schedule to support the license application submittal.
Mr. Markovich served as the lead manager for the Emergency Plan development effort for the initial license application for the LES National Enrichment Facility to meet the requirements of 10CFR70.22, Regulatory Guide 3.67 and NUREG-1520. Mr. Markovich was responsible for overseeing the development of the Emergency Plan, ensuring consistency with the other Safety Analysis Report chapters and interfacing/negotiating with the State and local Emergency Management Agencies under an aggressive schedule to support the license application submittal.
Mr. Markovich developed and conducted Severe Security Event Tabletops involving a terrorism incident at a nuclear power station to demonstrate the integrated response capabilities of the station’s emergency response organization with external agencies in accordance with an Integrated Response Plan. The design of the tabletop was to illicit discussions regarding the response actions of the various agencies and compare them to the Integrated Response Plan. The tabletop allowed for a sharing of ideas to better acquaint the participants with each other’s response actions.
Ron has a Masters Degree in Managerial Marketing from Pace University and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon.
